2021 Ivalu Scholarship Award Winner!

Arctic Education Foundation is very pleased to announce Muriel Katuk Brower of Utqiaġvik as the 2021 Ivalu Scholarship Award Winner!

Muriel is the daughter of Elsie and the late Edward Itta, she is the granddaughter of the late Noah and Mollie Itta and the late Florence and Price Hopson. She was born and raised in Utqiagvik, Alaska where she currently resides and is the wife to Jason Brower and mother to Seth, Chase, and Alana.

Muriel is pursuing her Master of Public Health degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She has previously earned a Master in Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a bachelor’s degree in Indigenous Health and Wellness: Interdisciplinary Studies also from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Muriel encourages all shareholders to keep pursuing their dreams and goals and to use the God given gifts we all have, serving each other through the Inupiaq values including love and compassion for one another and most importantly through the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are all part of the Inupiaq family and Muriel encourages everybody to be positive examples to our children and future generations taking on a servant’s role and attitude. All things are possible through Him and Muriel credits all her achievements to Him.
