The Arctic Education Foundation (AEF) is proud to announce the 2025 Ivalu Scholarship winner, Alexis Edwardsen of Utqiaġvik, Alaska.
Alexis Edwardsen is the daughter of the late Bridget Edwardsen and Robert Lozano Jr. Her maternal grandparents are Anthony and Carolyn Edwardsen, and paternal grandparents are Marcy Patkotak and Robert Lozano Sr.
A 2025 Barrow High School graduate, Alexis plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Passionate about service, she aspires to become a future leader for Utqiaġvik.
With her education, Alexis intends to return home to give back to the community that raised her. As she shared, “The time, effort, and dedication of learning new things is not only for myself, but for our people.”
