The Arctic Education Foundation (AEF) is proud to announce the 2023 Ivalu Scholarship winner, Ada Putman of Anchorage, AK
Ada is the daughter of Marietta Thibodeau and Jesse Putman; her grandparents are Eda Ahmaogak Akpik of Utqiagvik, Michael Chestler, Maisie Capps, and Tok Putman.
Ada will attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks pursuing an Associate degree in Fire Science, then a Bachelor’s in Homeland Security and Emergency Management. While being a full-time student, Ada will also be working at the University Fire Department as a student firefighter. After she graduates her plan is to start a career with the Anchorage Fire Department providing the highest quality emergency medical care for her community.
